Blog Mission

Peek-A-Boo Parenting is interested in identifying and discussing issues regarding parenting from birth through the early years and how this alters the patterns of life for each child. Before children have mastered adequate language skills they are sending us signals through their eyes and their cries. How we respond to these signals establishes the path upon which our children walk. We can inspire and encourage their creativity and curiosity, or we can diminish it. We can expand their intellectual capacities, or we can shrink them. We can build confidence and self esteem, or we can instill fear and uncertainty. Parents launch the children they birth into either success or mediocrity. And then we send them off to be educated in our public or private K – 12 educational system where much of their success is determined by how we as parents did our job.

We will discuss many topics from a common sense point of view. It does not take a PhD to raise a child in a loving, secure, and responsive environment. Children are not complicated; they are simple and innocent. They become complicated when parents are irresponsible. Even if we as parents did not have an ideal childhood, it is no excuse not to give your own children one. It is within each of us to change our ways and habits to improve the next generation. Our children are our legacy. They define who we are.
