Peek-A-Boo, I See You! is both memoir and parenting guide. Sandra Gunn has penned a book about her childhood and her children’s childhood; what a wonderful legacy for her children. Gunn’s parenting style is inspiring. She is obviously devoted to her children. Her description of cardboard sleds brought back memories. We did the same thing for our children.
The story about hide and seek brought smiles. The Garden brought back many happy memories. I loved planting the garden when I was a child. I loved the smell of fresh turned dirt and the feel of it on my bare feet. We always raised a large garden. There was a sense of accomplishment when I saw the young plants poking through the ground.
Gunn’s book is informative, interesting and entertaining. I am impressed with this book. Gunn presents that all parents can modify to fit their income and situation. I’ve often heard people say children should come with an owner’s manual. Gunn has just written the manual. This should be mandatory reading for all parents!
